the right time?

Hi, my names jess I am 15 years old and I’m from new jersey:) i am struggling with the right time to come out. I know that i want to wait until i go to college to tell my friends and family. but i’m wondering if that’s not the right decision? from watching ‘the real l word’ i see that it can take a while for parents to understand it. so should i come out now instead of waiting? how do i know when the right time is?
