Grrl’s Guide to Filmmaking
2.7.13
by Tracy Ryerson
This past week, I joined director, Rolla Selbak, for Episode 5 of GRRLS GUIDE TO FILMMAKING. It’s a monthly show for aspiring filmmakers who want to learn the ins-and-outs of making films….And boy did I have a lot to say about that!!! I live and breathe “the industry” and have been blessed to be able to work on both sides of the camera for the past 10 years in Los Angeles.
I met Rolla through our friend, Sheetal Sheth, who stars in her movie, THREE VEILS. (The film is about three Middle-eastern women living int he US, each with her own story) Not long after our first conversation, I had read her web-series KISS HER I’M FAMOUS (available on TelloFilms in March!) and signed on to play “Mandy”. We filmed 5 episodes in 5 days and had a blast. She’s truly a great director who makes you feel instantly comfortable. (and she has such an infectious laugh to boot!) The funny thing about spending that much time on set (with the same people day in and day out) is that you quickly become a small “family”. I had a great experience and can’t wait to show you the finished product. Oh, and did I mention that I had to show some skin and share an on-screen kiss? Crossing things off my bucket list left and right this year!
I hope you enjoy GRRLS GUIDE TO FILMMAKING and can’t wait for you to see KISS HER I’M FAMOUS. Thanks again for going on this journey with me!
