Production On Season Two Begins This Year
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 6, 2010) – SHOWTIME has announced the second season pick-up of its groundbreaking lesbian reality series THE REAL L WORD. Season two will consist of nine episodes and follow a group of intriguing women – some returning and some new – as they share their personal stories at work and play, in the Los Angeles lesbian scene – all uncut and uncensored. Casting for the new members is set to begin this week and production will begin later this year.
“I’m thrilled and truly excited by the support from SHOWTIME and their desire to really bust it out in the second season. We’re looking to tell deeper stories about some of the cast members whom we got to know in season one, and to meet some new women whose lives reflect additional facets of lesbian life and experience,” says executive producer Ilene Chaiken, who also served as one of the executive producers of the long-running SHOWTIME drama series, THE L WORD(R).
Along with Chaiken, the series will continue to be executive produced by reality producers Magical Elves (Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz) who recently garnered the Emmy(R) Award for Outstanding Reality Program or Competition for the hit reality competition series Top Chef. Season one of THE REAL L WORD, viewed by more than one million viewers each week, is the first gay-themed reality series on premium cable.

This is great news. I wonder wen they will confirm who is returning. I know Tracy will cause I have seen her Facebook grow and grow and grow. In some ways I am kind of bummed cause I think she could be a movie star or do prime time or have her own show. I think the audience could be far greater. This would be a good thing cause although it would be nice to not share her, life is hard enough and we gotta share the good things. Getting to know her on season 1 was like getting to see The Rolling Stones in some small venue before they became, well, The Stones. You'll never forget how lucky you were, but you will probably never get to see them in such an intimate setting again. That's what I feel about Tracy. She will get bigger and bigger.
awesome i was hoping they will bring them back. but hopefully they will have different backgrounds and other races to show other diversities in the lesbian life.
