Advice

I would love to share my name, but I don’t think it’s really safe at this point. So, I was just on the live interview with Whitney and Tracy came on through the chat room. Hey, what’s up? So…
I live in Canada, I’m 19 (female). I’ve never dated anyone in a serious way. I want to be happy but I live in an area where people believe electricity is of the devil. My parents are missionaries, I grew up as an MK (missionary kid) in Europe. I would love to come out and live, love happily, but I would loose everything. I work freelance and as word travels, people wouldn’t hire me. I would lose all my friends and family. Like I said earlier, I would worry about my safety. Do you know anyone in a similar position? I feel completely alone, I don’t know anyone that’s gay. I don’t have a whole lot of money, just trying to make it through college in one piece.
I guess asking “what should I do?” is too broad. But do you have any thoughts or experience on a situation like this. Thanks!!

hey! I am Christian and gay. Born-again-Christian and studied Theology to become a missionary. This summer I finally realized that what has been different about me all the time is that I like women..So I know what you mean. Also about "safety". We can chat on of these days if you want to. (by the way. I also live in Europe)

Loving Jesus and being gay seems to be the most ironic thing in life, right? But you know, I have studied the Bible (and still am) and putting this and God's love for me together I have to trust that He knows what we are going through. That it is not our choice to be hated by Him. (and by the way, that's made up as well. God loves homosexuals the same way he loves heterosexuals with actual flaws that are under the religious carpet) If you guys are interested on how Gay Christians find their way in being true God and Bible loving I suggest to visit following website: http://www.gaychristian.net/video/answers.php
There are some nice video clips.
    God bless sisters

Hmmm hope you don't mind me asking but where in the bible does it say homosexuality is wrong? is that in the first testament ,2nd,3rd? haha this is interesting

    Very interesting story you have,,,
I hope you overcome your fears and worries soon, as it is stressful having these things weighing on your mind day in & out, it can drown a person. I hope soon everyone around you will open there hearts, minds and souls to understanding you and loving you for who you are, and not loving you for who they picture you to be. You probably think (WHY ME?) All the time and never seem to find the answer for it. I think the reason why you are in that situation and struggle is because you are being tested. You will know what to do ->your heart will tell you trust me!! Take your situation as a trial and know that there’s a reward at the end of all this (Just don’t expect it to be a million buxx haha remember the man above works in mysterious ways & Freedom is a million times more valuable)
Things will get better for you trust me and like Tracy said-> CHOOSE YOU!! Everything else will start falling into place πŸ™‚

    Ok that’s all from me
I bid you well through your journey
    Bless!! πŸ™‚

Romans 1 is the typical defense religious people use against gays. However this is how I explained it to my mom. To her, being with a man is natural, she couldn’t fathom it any other way. Being with a woman to my mom is wrong, however being with a man for me is wrong and so very unnatural. We are all so very imperfect, how does God expect anything to be ‘natural’ or the way it was in the beginning? These feelings are not a ‘bad desire’ they are natural to us, and being forced any other way is going against who you are. I told my mom I felt wrong being with a man, it just isn’t natural for me. She didn’t like it, but she had nothing to say.
Always be sure to respect her beliefs but stand true to YOURSELF! Don’t live your life because that’s how you were raised because you won’t ever be happy and don’t do things to make your mom happy. She may never fully accept things, but she will come around! Stay strong:)

It will be the shock of her life and you will have to give her time to get over it. It won’t be an easy road, but if you want to be true to yourself, it’s a road you have to take. You will feel a relief once you tell her, I promise! Then will come the tears and many discussions, however you have to be ready for this battle. It won’t last a lifetime either so don’t think it will. It all might seem overwhelming right now cause the world you once knew is so different from the world you might become a part of. I understand! You are not alone! Just please…please…don’t hold it in. Your life will only begin once you are honest with who you are:)

@Mheat123 Hey, I found a new website that I really liked: http://www.lesbepure.com/ and regarding the passage in Romans, there are several interpretations. What is important though is to read it carefully and try to find out what Paul meant considering the literal and cultural context. So check it out: http://whosoever.org/bible/romans.shtml
And remember, THERE ARE Gay Christians πŸ™‚
