Do you believe in Soul Mates?

Up and down California’s Pacific Coast Highway is one of my happy places.  Put me on any of those beaches, give me a book, a surfboard, my friends….and I’m good.  This time, I went with Stamie for a little “just us” down time.  The experience was slightly different.  Turns out, Stamie was armed with her Adidas pants and a flip camera.  I figured it was a good time to ask her about her take on Soul Mates….

What do you think?  Do you think age has anything do do with your opinion on Soul Mates?  Do you have one?   Spill it!!!

A soulmate or soul mate is a person with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, love, intimacy, sexuality, spirituality, and/or compatibility.

My best friend (not partner) is my soul mate, all the deep feelings, love, spirituality all the above. we share. i believe there a many soul mates out there if we "feel" it. ….. great feeling to!

I'd like to think we do have a person that we would have 100% of intense connection with. The thing is how would you find this person? and is this person going to be your partner? I have been in a relationship for 8 years and I thought this person was my soulmate but after two years I felt different, like the connection was no longer there, like I just wanted to be friends. I tried ending the relationship once when we were about 4 years in and she did not take it well now its another four years later and i still do not have the heart to hurt this woman. I am not inlove with her but i do love her a great deal. And i just hope and pray that what i felt for those first two years I get back, but I think my prayers have been lost on their way to heaven because I have been praying for 6 years now.

i find it interesting that the definition of soul mate has no frame of time reference, especially since we are led to believe that a soul mate is forever. according to this definition, i have had several soul mates at varying times in my life. but i feel the soul is an ever evolving entity and for two souls to connect, and consequently grow together successfully is extraordinarily rare. from one of my favorite books "the prophet," kahlil gibran writes, "the soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed.
the soul unfolds itself like a lotus of countless petals." i love the idea that there is no set, direct path of growth for you soul, but instead a blooming nurtured by your surroundings. the soul is constantly unfolding and heading in different directions. and there will always be people at different stages who are your soul mates. i'd like to believe that there is a forever soul mate, but i think "temporary" soul mates seem much more likely…

but then again, my parents have been together for 35 years and are still as in love with each other as the day they met. so, what do i know?…

    raging hormones.

  5. MIG says:

Soul Mates: The person who can always make you smile, who shares your hopes & dreams, who makes you whole. Some one who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the lock.

  6. dimitra says:

Age has nothing to do with soul mates. A soul mate is someone who will change your life in just one moment. Someone you can talk to for hours and tell anything to without passing any judgement. Someone you look at and with a short glance, knowing you can't live without them.

yo creo que si existen las almas gemelas pero muchas veces no tienen que ser iguales aveces son diferentes pero se complementan.

pero dinos tracy que contesto stamie?

Yes… I believe in soul mates… and up until recently I thought it could only be ONE person…. I've come to realize, you can have more than 1. To make a very long story short, my partner was my soulmate… her and I connected on a level I had never connected with anyone before… she was the person I always went to with every issue in life… she could make me laugh, smile, cry and feel safe… all at the same time. We had almost everything 'in common', but enough differences to keep the relationship interesting. She got me… and I got her. I was so very protective of her and she of me. Sadly…she passed away in 2007. Very young and very beautiful. My heart was broken… and some days, still is… always will be. I started working with a medium 6 months after her passing and realized we are still connected even across the planes of life/afterlife.

  9. @yankeegirl says:

(more) My medium was the one who told me I would find love again (a message coming from my partner in heaven) and that my partner would put us together when it was right. I fought it for a long time… and now over 3yrs later have let my heart open to another relationship with someone who definitely feels like my soulmate and reminds me so much of my partner in heaven. She is very special… and has to be to try to mend the heart of someone who has been so lost for so long. She saved me… just like my partner/soulmate in heaven saved me many years ago. So yes… I'm a believer… there is 'the one'… or maybe in my case, more than one… who really gets you… and makes your life worth living.

People make the mistake of thinking a soul mate can only be a sexual partner. Anyone can be a soul mate — friends, relatives, lovers. Age, nationality, sex, physicality… none of these attributes are particularly relevant. What is important is the reaction you have to a soul mate. Have you ever met someone who you just liked straight away, for no good reason? Or someone you wanted to tell all about yourself? This is your soul at work. I believe in the theory that, before we come to our physical form here on earth, we all choose to experience certain things to help us grow once we are here. They can be good experiences, like love and success, or bad ones, like betrayal and sadness. We make agreements with other souls to help us experience these things. Whatever it is, it will always be some kind of strong reaction.. You'll know they are important because of the force and depth of the emotional charge when your paths cross.
It's a nice idea if you think you've found your one and only. But it's terrible if you then lose them. That's why people struggle with break-ups. They think they will never meet anyone like that again and, in one sense, they're right. That person was unique and brought certain lessons and experiences to the table. But other people will bring other wonderful things. The important thing is to learn the lesson that person brought with them, and move on.
So it seems there are plenty of soul mates out there, of all shapes and sizes. And if you've only been looking for one of the tall, dark and handsome variety, maybe it's time to widen your search. Keep an eye out for anyone you feel a connection with, and see where it goes. The likelihood is they'll help you learn a valuable lesson, or at the very least lend an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on or a helping hand.

  13. Aw. Tracy found her Soul Mate. Good video Stamie/Tracy……Okay Here Is my Opinion: – I do believe In soul mates. but I also Know from experiences through relationships It takes time to actually call someone your soul mate..Age Has nothing to do with it. but I think going through the up, and downs and understanding each other and when you reach that point, It's like you finally realize HOW much you both can tolerate being together…I just don't think U can find a soul mate without going through the bad and good. ya know?… Just my thoughts.. LOVE & Light.

  15. Emi says:

I believe there is such a thing as a Soul Mate.
Sure there are some People that You find a connection with, but I think there is one that You truly connect with.. That you really could not see life without.. As for the age issue… age is nothing but a number and should not affect finding or being with your Soul Mate.

  16. Lisa & Trish says:

i found my soul mate, Nov 21,1979, she was 16 years and I was 17 years. We are still together after 32 years. i turly believe there is a soul mate for every one.. i just happen to find my soul mate at a very young age… still in love with each other as the day we met.. 🙂

  19. wend says:

i dont believe souls actually mate i mean think about it have u seen or met a soul baby?

  20. Lucy says:

Can love blind you enough to think you have found your soul mate?

  21. SoulmateExists says:

Yes, I believe in soulmates. By coincidence, my twitter account is SoulmateExists. Soul mate is pretty hard to define, we can only feel. Attempts to explain the inexplicable become somewhat meaningless. It's all a matter of believing. I believe I have found my soulmate. : D

  22. rayvin says:

i think the idea of a soul mate sounds lovely… but at the same time limiting. The idea of there being one person out in the world to complete or totally get me … seems like finding a needle in a haystack. i think that people want to believe in soulmates because it makes us feel less alone, more validated and special… but really we choose to love and be loved, we choose to allow ourselves to open and be vulnerable – it's a choice, not fate and quite frankly, i think that choice makes partnership all the more romantic and incredible!

  23. almii8 says:

Nothing matters… Only you and that person! I believe that you shouldn't fall in love with the gener or the sex… Fall in love with the person, the personality, sense of humor, communication, trust, all those kind of stuffs… I'm not into labels, i'm into respect, tolerance… But most of all: LOVE! Tha's all about 🙂

  24. Kim Spisak says:

Yes I believe there is that right person for everyone out there its just getting though all the piles of "so called right people" to get to the one person that everything just clicks. I know I have not found that person yet and it is looking like I never will because once you are out there and people start talking people start leaving your life and maybe I just need to walk away and move but how can I leave my family that is hard for me because they are one true constant in my life.
